Of The South Labradors is a Labrador Retriever breeding program in Runaway Bay, Texas, northwest of the Dallas–Fort Worth Metroplex. Our dogs are bred for the field, raised as part of the family, and matched thoughtfully with homes looking for the versatility that makes the Labrador Retriever special.
Our AKC-registered current litter (SS588210) includes black, chocolate, charcoal, and silver puppies. Each puppy is identified by collar color so growth records, photos, and availability can stay organized from birth through placement.
Current Litter • 2026A 105 lb chocolate sire and 83.5 lb charcoal dam whose photos tell the same story as the dogs themselves: outdoors, at home, and part of the family.
Dilute genetics are part of this pairing and help explain why the litter can include charcoal and silver alongside black and chocolate. We believe families deserve a clear explanation of what color genetics mean—and what they do not mean.
The D locus influences whether pigment is expressed at full intensity or diluted. Charcoal and silver are commonly used breeder terms for dilute black and dilute chocolate phenotypes.
